Dear TEACH Fellows,
Welcome to the 8th TEACH cohort! We are excited about working with you for the next two semesters.
After more than two years of planning and gathering input from faculty members across Texas Tech and at other universities around the nation, the Teaching Learning, and Technology Center began the TEACH program in Spring, 2000. With the support of the Graduate School and the advice of the TEACH program Committee, the program has developed into a successful graduate training program for future faculty members like yourselves and is considered to be a privilege. We hope that you realize that the application process was quite competitive and your appointment as a TEACH fellow is definitely a great opportunity for you!
We strive to maintain flexibility within the TEACH program and meet your needs as individuals. We want the program to be more than a series of requirements that you complete, but rather steps that help you grow as an educator and examine your personal teaching philosophy.
Please know that each member of the TEACH program team maintains an “open-door” policy. We want you to feel free to contact us or come by any time – we’d love to visit with you or help in any way we can. We will post reminders and other announcements on the TEACH website and on the TEACH blog, so we hope that you will visit the site often. The manual is also a really important collection of information about the program. Please take time to review it thoroughly and continue to refer to it during your TEACH fellowship. Many of your questions about the program can be answered in the information found in the manual.
Congratulations on your selection as a TEACH fellow and welcome to the program.
Sincerely,
The TEACH Program Team
